ISO 9001: 2015 Revision

Home 9 ISO 9001 9 ISO 9001: 2015 Revision

All of the proposed details have not yet been finalized; but making an assessment from the draft copy there are some likely changes that might be worth mentioning at this time.

1. A significant structural change.

This change will modify the current 1 through 8 sections set-up, and change it to a 1 through 10 sections structure. Even though this appears to be a big expansion, the reality is many of the same requirements exist but have been re-organized.

The reasoning behind this appears to be in line with a larger push to align all future ISO management system standards under the new ‘Annex SL’ model.  When complete, organizations that have multiple management systems will find it much easier to align and integrate requirements for varied standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, and so on and so forth.

The high-level layout will be as follows:

Section 1. Scope

Section 2. Normative References

Section 3. Terms and Definitions

Section 4. Context of the Organization

Section 5. Leadership

Section 6. Planning

Section 7. Support

Section 8. Operation

Section 9. Performance Evaluation

Section 10. Improvement
